Why Rhino Tanks?

Before you choose your Water Storage Tank, make sure the manufacturer can answer yes to the following questions:

  1. Is the Water Tank Liner made from the highest quality reinforced material available?
    Hydroliner is a new generation reinforced water tank liner material combining low density Polyethylene coatings with a high density Polyethylene woven base fabric. With our modern welding technology we are able to provide an overlap welded seam with a 5 layer Metallocene tape welded barrier against bacterial growth offering unsurpassed performance in water containment. Hydroliner has passed water potable testing at the Australian Water Quality Centre AS/NZS 4020:4020 tested for
    a) Taste of water extract
    b) Appearance of water extract
    c) Growth of aquatic organisms
    d) Cytotoxic activity water extract
    e) Mutagenic activity water extract
  2. Are all water tanks AND LINERS manufactured in the same manufacturing plant?
    All Rhino Water Tanks are manufactured by our company then distributed to our installers or resellers throughout Australia. We don’t rely on another company to make liners to use in our tanks – each tank is made from start to finish by our specialised team.
  3. Are Sacrificial Magnesium Anodes used to prevent corrosion?
    Every Rhino Water Tank installed uses Sacrificial Magnesium Anodes that are engineered to AS 2239 alloy M3 analysis & performance standard.
    The Zinc or Galvanized coating on any steel gives some cathodic protection, however, this protection is limited. The use of Sacrificial Anodes becomes the first defence against corrosion and the Galvanized or Zinc coating on the wall sheets become the second defence. Correct installation and our regular 5 year maintenance program is therefore imperative to prevent your water tank from rusting.

  4. Do they offer the full range of Colorbond colours?
    Most manufacturers only offer limited colours in their standard range. Only Rhino Water Tanks offer the FULL RANGE of genuine Bluescope® Colorbond® colours in their standard range.
  5. Does your water tank AND liner come with a 20 Year Warranty?
    Because Rhino Water Tanks manage ALL aspects of the tank manufacturing, including the liner, we control the quality of the tank from order to installation, we can confidently offer a 20 year Warranty on the tank and liner and will also service the tank and replace the Sacrificial Anodes every 5 years for the life of the Warranty. Our company structure dictates that we can’t hide behind layers of administration and the owners remain accountable for warranty decisions
  6. Is the water tank constructed with a double or triple row of bolts from top to bottom?
    The shear point in any tank wall is the bolted join
    All Rhino Water Tanks have two or three (depending on size) rows of 12mm purlin bolts joining the sheets from top to bottom. This ensures even strength in the overlaps instead of only having a single row in the top half of the tank wall.
  7. Are the trusses Hot Dipped Galvanised for added protection and strength?
    All the trusses used in the installation of a Rhino Water Tank are hot dipped galvanized ensuring protection from condensation corrosion
